Birmingham Channel Additions and Changes
Important Notice to Birmingham Cable Customers
Bright House Networks is launching a new digital video delivery technology known as Switched Digital Video (SDV). SDV is a robust bandwidth-management system that makes it possible to offer more digital video programming services than before including new HD channels. To be able to offer more new video services, Bright House Networks will be moving some existing programming services to the SDV system.
Beginning June 2, 2009, the following services will be delivered on the SDV system:
Hallmark Movie Channel HD will remain on channel 681
MGM HD will remain on channel 684
Universal HD will remain on channel 692
Showtime premium service including Showtime HD, Showtime, Showtime Extreme, Showtime Beyond, Showtime Too, Showtime Showcase, Showtime Next, Showtime Women, Showtime Family, The Movie Channel, The Movie Channel Xtra. (The Showtime premium service will remain on channels 240-247 with Showtime HD on channel 257/610 and The Movie Channel and The Movie Channel Xtra on channels 260 and 261.)
In addition, on May 26, 2009, the following new services for the HD Basic tier, HD Premium tier or HD Pack will be delivered on the SDV system:
Travel Channel HD on channel 613
Science HD on channel 615
Biography HD on channel 616
AMC HD on channel 619
Starz HD on channel 605
Smithsonian HD on channel 693
Mav TV HD on channel 694
These services will not be available on uni-directional retail devices as of the date(s) noted above. If you want to subscribe to these services, you will need a digital set-top box or similar bi-directional (two-way) equipment from Bright House Networks. Customers may continue to use their uni-directional retail device and CableCARD to receive video programming other than the programming delivered on the SDV system. Customers will be notified in advance of any other programming changes.
Effective May 26, 2009, the HD Showcase On Demand channel will be available to HD customers with Digital Basic level of service.
Effective May 26, 2009 the following channels will no longer be available on the Bright House lineup: InDemand PPV channels 323 – 327 and The Outdoor Channel 169. The Outdoor Channel will remain as part of the Sports Tier on channel 457.
Effective June 16, 2009 Encore Movie Plex will no longer be available on channel 50, and RetroPlex will be added to the Digital Movie Pack on channel 198.
IMPORTANT NOTICE to HD Pack Customers
Our agreements with programming services routinely expire from time to time. Our agreement with HD Nets expires on May 31 and at such time HD Net and/or HD Net Movies may either be dropped from the HD Pack or repositioned to another tier of service.
