Bright House Networks Recognizes Rodney White
Making A Difference In Birmingham Community

Birmingham, Ala. - February 28, 2009 – Bright House Networks recognized eight employees at the Crystal House Awards Gala held in Daytona Beach, Florida.  The Crystal House Awards recognizes employees for exemplifying a strong commitment to community through volunteerism and philanthropy. Each of the winners has an extraordinary sense of responsibility and has consistently made a significant difference in the communities they live in and as an employee of Bright House Networks.

For 2009, the Crystal House Award winner in the Birmingham Division was Rodney White. White won for his work with the Moody Miracle Network League. White has worked for Bright House Networks for 13 years as a Head-end Technician.  He has been a volunteer with the Moody Miracle Network League and recently was appointed League Director.  Imagine what you would want to say to a child who asks to join the school football team, basketball team, cheerleading squad, school band, track team or baseball league.  Unfortunately, the answer that many kids today hear is “no” because of a physical or mental difference.  Rod gives his time and talent to make sure that kids in his community hear the answer “yes” when it comes to athletic activities.  He goes beyond what is expected to make sure that the field is in order, that the equipment is safe, all with the hope that the experience will be life changing for each child and teenager.

“We are proud of the contributions that Rodney has made to his community”, states Karen Broach, President Bright House Networks Birmingham. “He is a fine example of a person that gives back to the community and asks for nothing in return.  I am sure that the lives of the participants of the Moody Miracle Network have been greatly enriched because of his efforts”

White received a Crystal House trophy and donation of $3,000 that will be given to The Moody Miracle Network League and a two-night, all expense paid trip to Daytona Beach Shores Resort & Spa in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Other winners of the Crystal House Award from Bright House Networks included John Doctor and Barbara Brunner (Tampa Bay), Gary Walsh (Central Florida), Adam Calvillo (Bakersfield, California), Abesita Garcia (Detroit, Michigan), James Burton (Indianapolis, Indiana) and Jacqueline Brockington (Central Florida News 13/Orlando, Florida).

The Crystal House Awards is four years old and has recognized many Bright House Networks employees for their outstanding work throughout the communities the company serves nationally.
